Introducing Your Achievements - C1

Good afternoon, I'm Ali — a twenty-six-year-old primary school teacher who grew up in London and has lived in Manchester for the past two years. To give you a sense of who I am, I was named 'Teacher of the Year' at my school last year, and, notably, I helped design a new reading programme that raised test scores. Beyond the obvious, I completed my first half marathon two years ago. At the same time, I saved enough to put a deposit down on a flat, particularly when other demands make that harder than it sounds. If there's a thread running through all of this, it's probably that I am proudest of the students who come back years later to say thank you. In many ways, what defines me has less to do with any single fact and more to do with how the achievements that matter most are rarely the ones that look impressive on paper.
