Introducing Your Goals & Dreams - C1

Good afternoon, I'm Ali — a twenty-six-year-old primary school teacher who grew up in London and has lived in Manchester for the past two years. To give you a sense of who I am, I would like to become a head of department within five years, and, notably, I dream of writing a short book about teaching one day. Beyond the obvious, I want to travel to Japan, somewhere I've wanted to visit for years. At the same time, I hope to buy a small house with a garden, particularly when other demands make that harder than it sounds. If there's a thread running through all of this, it's probably that I would like to run a marathon before I turn thirty. In many ways, what defines me has less to do with any single fact and more to do with how goals work best when at least one of them is purely for enjoyment, not achievement.
