Introducing Your Hobbies - C1

Good afternoon, I'm Ali — a twenty-six-year-old primary school teacher who grew up in London and has lived in Manchester for the past two years. To give you a sense of who I am, I play football twice a week with a local five-a-side team, and, notably, I started learning to cook about a year ago. Beyond the obvious, I read mostly history books, especially about the Second World War. At the same time, I occasionally go fishing with my father when I visit London, particularly when other demands make that harder than it sounds. If there's a thread running through all of this, it's probably that I would like to take up running properly next year. In many ways, what defines me has less to do with any single fact and more to do with how hobbies outside work help balance the pressure of the classroom.
