Introducing Your Interests - C1

Good afternoon, I'm Ali — a twenty-six-year-old primary school teacher who grew up in London and has lived in Manchester for the past two years. To give you a sense of who I am, I am genuinely interested in history, particularly the twentieth century, and, notably, I enjoy following football, especially my local team. Beyond the obvious, I have recently become curious about cooking and where ingredients come from. At the same time, I prefer documentaries to most other television, particularly when other demands make that harder than it sounds. If there's a thread running through all of this, it's probably that I would like to visit some of the historical sites I've only read about. In many ways, what defines me has less to do with any single fact and more to do with how curiosity about history quietly shapes the way I see current events too.
