Introducing Your Interests - C2

Good afternoon, everyone. I'm Ali — a twenty-six-year-old primary school teacher who grew up in London and has lived in Manchester for the past two years. I am genuinely interested in history, particularly the twentieth century, and, perhaps less obviously, I enjoy following football, especially my local team. Beyond the immediately apparent, I have recently become curious about cooking and where ingredients come from. At the same time, I prefer documentaries to most other television, if only because the alternative rarely serves anyone well. What I find myself returning to, more than anything else, is that I would like to visit some of the historical sites I've only read about. If nothing else, I hope this makes clear that what defines me is less any isolated fact than how curiosity about history quietly shapes the way I see current events too.
