Introducing Your Name & Basic Information - C2

Good afternoon, everyone. I'm Ali — a twenty-six-year-old primary school teacher who grew up in London and has lived in Manchester for the past two years. I am named Ali, after my grandfather, and, perhaps less obviously, I am twenty-six years old. Beyond the immediately apparent, I was born in London and now live in Manchester. At the same time, I work as a primary school teacher, if only because the alternative rarely serves anyone well. What I find myself returning to, more than anything else, is that I am usually just called 'Ali', even by my students. If nothing else, I hope this makes clear that what defines me is less any isolated fact than how a name and a few basic facts already say something about a person.
