Good afternoon, I'm Ali — a twenty-six-year-old primary school teacher who grew up in London and has lived in Manchester for the past two years. To give you a sense of who I am, I would describe myself as approachable and a good listener, and, notably, I am patient, which helps a great deal with ten-year-olds. Beyond the obvious, I can be quite stubborn once I've decided something is right. At the same time, I prefer small groups of close friends to large parties, particularly when other demands make that harder than it sounds. If there's a thread running through all of this, it's probably that I try to stay calm even when a lesson doesn't go to plan. In many ways, what defines me has less to do with any single fact and more to do with how patience and stubbornness can, surprisingly, come from the same place.
