Good afternoon, everyone. I'm Adam — a twenty-six-year-old primary school teacher who grew up in London and has lived in Manchester for the past two years. I am patient and good at explaining things simply, and, perhaps less obviously, I listen carefully, which helps me notice when a student is struggling. Beyond the immediately apparent, I can be disorganised with paperwork if I'm not careful. At the same time, I sometimes take on too many extra responsibilities at school, if only because the alternative rarely serves anyone well. What I find myself returning to, more than anything else, is that I am working on saying no to things I don't actually have time for. If nothing else, I hope this makes clear that what defines me is less any isolated fact than how weaknesses are often just strengths taken slightly too far.
